In 2025, Invest for children keeps its collaboration with Tennis Barcelona Foundation and their programmes “Tenis con Valores”.
The Tennis Barcelona Foundation was established in 2019 to strengthen the charitable initiatives already in place at RCTB-1899, although it did not become fully operational until March 2021.
The Foundation’s mission is to promote social inclusion and improve the physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable individuals in Barcelona and its metropolitan area through tennis and padel. Its aim is to become a leading organisation in the field of inclusive sport, thanks to the programmes and activities it carries out.
In addition to the Club’s charitable activities, the Foundation has created the Solidarity Tennis School, which is structured around two main programmes: Tennis with Values and Play All. The School provides weekly tennis lessons for children at risk of social exclusion in their own neighbourhoods, along with healthy snacks.
In parallel, the Foundation runs a Scholarship Programme that funds sports studies for young people referred by social organisations, offering them a unique opportunity for professional development. Through an agreement with the Catalan Tennis Federation, the Foundation also helps these scholarship recipients pursue professional careers in sport.
Impact and growth
Since its inception, the Foundation has positively transformed lives:
- Current beneficiaries: over 500 young people aged 6 to 17
- Hours of activity delivered: more than 1,000
- Nationalities represented: over 29
- Rackets collected: more than 350
- Snacks distributed: over 4,200
- Neighbourhoods supported: 14
All of the Foundation’s beneficiaries are at risk of social exclusion and are referred by social organisations with whom the Foundation collaborates. Additionally, over 10% of participants have specific educational support needs or developmental disabilities, such as:
- Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Attention deficit disorder (ADD)
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
A mission to transform lives
The activities of Fundación Tenis Barcelona make a tangible impact by providing opportunities and improving the quality of life for hundreds of young people through tennis, while promoting values such as perseverance, effort, and solidarity.
Resources required
The significant growth of the Solidarity School and the ongoing commitment to excellence require additional resources to maintain and expand the programmes:
- Material resources: rackets, balls, portable nets, and sports kits (T-shirts and bags) for each participant.
- Financial resources: to fund and expand the scholarship programme.
- Human resources: coaches, sports coordinators, and educational teams in social care centres.
